How it works
The Zebra Jazz Collective house band kicks off the evening with an electrifying first set, setting the stage for an exciting opportunity to jam with the band. Whether you are a seasoned musician or just starting out, this is a fantastic chance to showcase your talent and connect with fellow jazz enthusiasts.

Zebra Jazz Collective Jam Evening - Let's Make Some Music!
We're thrilled you're interested in joining our jazz jam evening in Tring! To ensure a
smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, especially our younger musicians,
please take a moment to read through our guidelines:
Attendance:
• Standard pub rules apply to all attendees. We encourage everyone to enjoy the
atmosphere responsibly.
Performing:
• Under 18s are welcome and encouraged to perform from age fourteen upwards. We
believe in nurturing young talent within our local community. For performers under
the age of 18, it is essential that they are accompanied by a responsible adult
throughout the event. This ensures their well-being and supervision.
• Lights, Camera, Jazz! We often capture the energy of our jam evenings through
photographs and videos for publicity purposes, which may include use on our
website, social media, and promotional materials. By attending and/or performing
you are agreeing to the possibility of your images being used in these materials.
• Secure Your Spot: To guarantee a performance slot, we highly recommend pre-
booking. This allows us to confirm your place on the bill and plan the evening
effectively.
• Performance Time: We aim to give everyone a chance to shine! Pre-booked
performers can generally expect to play 1-2 songs, depending on the number of
sign-ups and time available.
• House Band Authority: Please note that all decisions regarding performance slots,
song choices for open jams, and the overall flow of the evening are at the discretion
of our fantastic house band, The Zebra Jazz Collective. Their goal is to ensure a great
musical experience for everyone.
• Walk-Ups: While we'd love to accommodate everyone, we cannot guarantee a
performance slot if you simply turn up on the night without pre-booking. We
strongly encourage you to book in advance to avoid disappointment.General:
• Be Your Own Insurance: Participants perform at their own risk and we are not liable
for any damage or injury to performers, instruments or equipment arising from the
jam. We recommend that musicians have their own insurance for their instruments.
• Respectful Environment: We expect all attendees and performers to treat each other
with respect and courtesy.
• Equipment: Performers are generally expected to bring their own instruments (unless
otherwise arranged with The Zebra Jazz Collective band )
By choosing to perform at the Tring Jazz Jam, you (and a parent or guardian for under 18s)
acknowledge and agree to abide by all the Terms and Conditions outlined herein, including
our policy regarding photography and videography for publicity purposes.

Frequency Asked Questions:
How many songs can I play or sing in the jam?
We do everthing we can to include everyone, so this very much depends on the amount of musicians who book in for the night. Expect one or maybe two numbers, with the option to accompany in others at our discretion.
Is there food available at the venue?
Yes, the King's Arms serve food
Is there seating?
Yes there is, the jam is getting very popular so we advise wanting to guarantee a seat to come early - we start at 7.30 pm
How much is the Jam? / Is there a cover charge?
We don't currently charge for the Jam. It's a celebration of jazz and we welcome all.
The band formed as part of Tring Music Partnership as charity we continue to support - A just giving page is coming soon. If you have enjoyed the jazz, please feel free to give as much or as little as you would like. Thank you.
Is there a practice session?
We don't have a practice session. We do advise you check confirm your song choice, keys etc with Vicki when booking your slot to play.
